In Scotland, the average cost of one square foot of storage is £21.04 per year according to the SSAUK. Additionally, 82.8% of all self storage facilities in Scotland are occupied, which is right in line with the UK national occupancy rate of 82.3%.

When pricing self storage in the Midlands, you have to factor in your geographic location. Self storage facilities in the East Midlands tend to cost more on average than those in the West Midlands & Wales, according to the SSAUK numbers. In the East Midlands it costs an average of £15.71 per square foot of self storage and in the West Midlands & Wales, it costs an average of £12.24.

The price may also include 24-hour access to your storage, staff assistance with your rental unit, use of trolleys and forklifts to load and unload your storage, and 24-hour CCTV. We inform you about all of our fees upfront because we want your self storage experience to go as smoothly as possible. We charge fees in the below situations to ensure your stuff and our team are safe and secure:
•Boxes over 25kg cost an extra £40 on collection and an extra £40 on delivery.
•We charge an extra £50 if you give us your stuff in a holdall, backpack, bin bag, or anything that isn’t a sturdy, cardboard box.
•We charge £50 if you are not in when our driver comes to collect your boxes and cannot access them. You’ll also have to reschedule a collection date.
•We charge a second delivery fee if you are not in when we come to deliver your stuff back to you.
If you’ve reached the end of your price plan but still need to keep your stuff in storage, don’t worry. We will keep storing it for you and your monthly price will remain the same, except for occasional price increases (which we warn you about 2 weeks in advance). This switch is automatic and there’s nothing you need to do to make it happen.
At LOVESPACE, storage gets cheaper the longer you store it for. You can check the price of your storage instantly, or see what it costs to send us additional boxes to store. You can also check the cost of delivery when we bring your stuff back to you.
We define small, medium and large boxes below:
•Small boxes are double-walled cardboard boxes with a combined width, height, and length of up to 110cm. Examples are archive boxes, book boxes, and poster tubes.
•Medium boxes are doubled-walled cardboard boxes with a combined width, height, and length between 110 and 130cm. Examples are medium suitcase boxes, crockery boxes, and clothes boxes.
•Large boxes are double-walled cardboard boxes with a combined width, height, and length between 130 and 150cm. An example is a large suitcase box.
If you paid for a long term price plan for your storage and want to take your storage back before the end of the plan, you will pay the remaining storage for each month until the end of the plan. If that happens, we’ll explain this when you place your return order.
To take advantage of lower rates, you need to commit to a long term storage plan. If your plans change and you need your stuff back sooner, you will pay the remaining storage for each month until the end of your plan. If you need more flexibility, you can choose our one-month, pay-as-you-go payment options. We allow you to make changes to your price plan up until 11am the working day before your collection.
Standard delivery from 7am to 7pm Monday-Friday starts from £5.95 per box or item. If your stuff is being delivered to an address greater than 25 miles from the collection address, we charge an additional £3 per box or item when storing by-the-box. Bikes cost an additional £60 per box.
For our storage units, a standard delivery of furniture or any stuff that don’t fit in boxes starts from £85, for addresses within a 25 mile radius of your collection address. Your return price depends on the volume of your delivery:
•Items up to 100ft3 cost £85
•Items up to 200ft3 cost £127.50
•Items up to 400ft3 cost £170
•Items up to 600ft3 cost £255
•Items up to 800ft3 cost £340
For our storage units service, deliveries of large items more than 25 miles from the collection address cost more:
•Items up to 200ft3 cost £1.90/mile
•Items up to 400ft3 cost £2.30/mile
•Items up to 600ft3 cost £3.00/mile
For items larger than 600ft3 being delivered more than 25 miles from the collection address, you need a bespoke quote.
We accept Visa, Mastercard, and Maestro cards registered to a UK address. You pay for your first month upfront and for each month after, we take payment from the same card. We take payments on the same day of each month.
We have several packing materials available for purchase that you can use to pack up your stuff. Delivery of LOVESPACE boxes and packing materials on our standard service before 7pm Monday to Friday starts at £6.
