  1. Marugame Udon  

Marugame Udon is a restaurant chain that serves Japanese Udon noodles with many locations across London. Their food is affordably priced, with a bowl of udon noodles starting from as little as £4.95.  

On top of their student-friendly pricing they also have a membership scheme called Marugame Club where you can claim two free tempuras on your very first visit, and if you collect 5 bowl stamps you can get a free bowl of udon!  

If you bring a valid student ID on your very first visit they will apply 10% student discount to your Marugame Club Membership.  

With Marugame you will be able to experience an authentic udon dining experience at cheap prices.  

  1. Thonglor Express 

Thonglor Express is a Thai Deli in Tottenham Court Road that serves authentic Thai dishes.  

They do an all-you-can-eat buffet for only £12 per person (TikTok mentions £10 however price has increased since then).  

Everyday from 14:30 to 16:30, you can eat as much food as you like for a one hour period. How it works is that they give you a plate and you can ask them to fill it up with any dishes you like: green curry, red curry, massaman curry, pad thai, fried eggs, spring rolls, stir fry… they have everything you could possibly imagine!  

You can refill this plate as many times as you like until the end of your session.  

If you are super hungry after a long lecture and need a late lunch, this is the place to go!  

  1. Flat Iron 

Flat Iron is the infamous steak restaurant with chains across London.  

Their steaks are priced at £14 which has increased throughout the years as it used to be £10 however is still affordable in comparison to other steak restaurants in London. 

The best part about their dining experience is that they give you free popcorn upon your arrival and once you finish your meal they give you free soft serve icecream!  

  1. Leongs Legend 

Leongs Legend is located in China Town, so you know that it’s authentic!  

If you love dimsum and want to eat a lot of it, head to Leongs Legend and try out their bottomless deal starting from £23.95 per person.  

You can eat as many starters, dimsum and rice and noodle dishes as you like from their menu for a period of 1.5 hours, with a complimentary drink.  

You will need to buy a voucher for this deal via Timeout and once you have purchased them, send them to the restaurant’s email address.  

You will then be able to book a date and time for your reservation.  

If after buying these vouchers your desired date is fully booked, these vouchers are valid for long periods of time and therefore can be used to rebook for another time. 

This deal is not available for walk ins.  

  1. Seoul Tokyo  

Seoul Tokyo is located in Borough serving a fusion of Korean and Japanese cuisine. 

Their lunch sets start from as little as £8 which is probably the most affordable deal you will ever find at a restaurant in Central London. 

Even their a la carte menu is very affordably priced, with classic Korean dishes such as kimchi jjigae, jajangmyeon, kimchi fried rice and bibimbap starting from only £10!  

Their food tastes authentic and are well portioned, making it an ideal option if you are tight on money but are craving good Asian food!
