About us

LOVESPACE is the UK’s first and largest storage by-the-box company. We collect boxes and other items from our customers’ doorsteps, store them in one of our secure storage facilities and deliver them back to any UK address whenever needed – as soon as the next day. Customers manage their stuff online, taking photos and adding descriptions. We’re a multi-award winning start-up, having been named High Growth Team of the Year, The UK’s Most Innovative Business, Crowdfunded Business of the Year (which we won twice) and most recently one of the 50 Fastest Growing Tech Businesses in the UK – 2018 by Deloitte. We are well on our way with our mission to be the first choice for people and businesses needing help looking after their stuff. We’re looking for the next wave of pioneers in the storage industry, with the ambition of joining a rapidly growing business with plenty of opportunity for personal and professional growth.

About the role:

LOVESPACE are looking for a highly motivated, self-starter to join our team in central London in the technology department as a front-end software developer.

The position will be heavily involved with the whole development life cycle of our systems, through working with the whole company.

Key responsibilities:

Owning the consumer website, supporting consumer/internal web/mobile applications, producing marketing design collateral and maintaining the LOVESPACE brand throughout

Essential skills:

You must know how to ship code, and carry out the tasks beyond software development to ensure a project is successful.

You need to know HTML5, CSS3, RWD, WordPress, and be at least familiar if not know the basics of AngularJS and/or Vue.js.

You should be able to demonstrate an eye for design and expertise using Illustrator and Photoshop.

You also need to speak, read write fluent English.

Great skills to have:

We’re a logistics based business and we use geo-spatial data structures, data warehousing and data reporting, knowing about those will certainly help. We’ve got customers from all over the world, so any extra languages you know would help. Technically knowing about RESTful APIs will score you big points, as well as knowing about Version Control (specifically GIT) and Continuous Integration are also useful, but by no means essentials.

Essential education level:

Having a 2.1 or higher bachelors degree in a technical subject is a must, but having a masters in engineering or science with honours is preferred, as would any post-graduate qualifications related to software development.
